We are looking for enthusiastic experienced band 5 / 6 midwives to join our highly motivated midwifery team, with opportunities to work within the hospital and Community setting.
If you are a newly qualified or a final year Student Midwife, we can offer exciting opportunities within our Maternity Services at Chesterfield.
Chesterfield Birth Centre provides co-located midwife and consultant led labour ward facilities, which include 4 birthing pools. Our maternity inpatient ward offers a calm and welcoming environment for women and their families.
Midwives are employed on an integrated basis, rotating between hospital and community based services, including rotation into a Continuity of Care model as required. A Comprehensive induction programme will be provided and band 5 midwives will receive our competency package to facilitate their progression to band 6.
Join us as a Rotational Midwife! You will be part of a team who combine excellent antenatal care to patients on postnatal wards, delivery suite, and in the community. We work rotational through days, nights, and weekends including bank holidays.
Main Duties of the Job
Job Summary
To contribute to the provision of a professional midwifery service, ensuring the highest possible standards of care are received by women and their families. To act as an excellent clinical role model and practice autonomously within the parameters of guidelines/policies, and sphere of professional practice.
The post holder will provide high quality woman-centred care in any setting, hospital or community, and may be required to work in a continuity of carer model.
The post holder will support the preceptorship and development of junior staff and undertake the role of Practice Supervisor and/or Assessor for student midwives.
The job description acts as a guideline to the responsibilities of the post holder and will be reviewed in consultation with the post holder and amended to meet changing professional and service needs.

* Registered Midwife
* Positive attitude to training and development
* IT Literate
Experience
* Experience of working as part of a midwifery team in the UK
* Experience of Community including home birth
* Experience of enhanced support for women i.e. peer support
Skills and Knowledge
* Good interpersonal skills
* Able to organise and prioritise workload
* Evidence of competencies outlined in the job description
* Enhanced skills in supporting women i.e. hypnobirthing, aromatherapy, acupuncture
Personal Attributes

* Full current driving licence with access to own transport
