Reed Industrial are hiring in Londonderry! We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Transport/Dispatch Coordinator to join our client on a permanent basis!
The role
As an internal transport/dispatch coordinator, you will oversee the delivery processes of goods in and out of the company. You will coordinate all aspects of driver and vehicle management. You will play a central role, servicing the dealer network throughout the UK and Ireland, working to ensure an efficient and effective service with the client's own lorries and subcontractors - £25,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience) - Full-Time, Permanent Role - 8am - 5pm, Mon-Thurs, 8am - 1pm Fri
Key accountabilities
- Oversee and manage the goods in and goods out processes - Plan, organise, and administer domestic and international deliveries. - Oversee all aspects of driver and vehicle management - Communicate and liaise with internal departments, such as sales, production, and accounts teams, and customers to successfully plan efficient collections/deliveries and ensure transparency is maintained across internal departments. - Ensure efficient use of driver, vehicle and asset resources through effective routing and scheduling of drivers - Be proactive in identifying and implementing supply chain efficiency savings such as vehicle utilisation, fuel management - Organise vehicles and trailers to meet maintenance schedules and ensure all periodic inspections are completed. - Manage driver tachograph monitoring systems in line with relevant regulations 9. Ensure compliance with all driver and transport regulations - Ensure effective management of Operators licence and requirements. Ensure all vehicles are road legal. Promptly deal with any issues/defects that may arise - Raise and check all delivery dockets for both the company’s own lorries and subcontractors. - Ensure all record keeping is maintained to a high standard
Skills & experience
- Previous experience in the transport industry is essential - Excellent communication skills - Adaptability and ability to work from own initiative - Good geographical knowledge of the UK and Ireland - Ability to work as part of a team - Basic IT and computer skills -Knowledge of driver and transport regulations - Knowledge of vehicle maintenance scheduling - Relevant qualification relating to logistics/transport would be desirable
