Job Location: Belfast / London (Hybrid, 3 days from office)
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our agile team to build on our Big Data application for the business, an intuitive, low-code and forward-thinking solution that forms part of the critical business operations and provides efficiency to the global user base. This application is crucial to the business as it supports core business functions such as providing Real-time, Near Real-time, and End of day market data and Price risk, Quant Functions front to back to our business teams.
You will be leading the requirements gathering work to assess the current state, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to the design of the future state solution through evidence-based research and analysis. As part of the scrum team, you will be involved throughout the SDLC and be the conduit between the business and the scrum team, particularly during the user testing and transition stages.

Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a liaison between the business units and the IT department to enhance our risk management platforms.
* Develop a deep understanding of our trading systems and the financial instruments we trade, including options, derivatives, equities, bonds, cash, and interest rate swaps.
* Analyze and document business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions.
* Utilize SQL to query databases for data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting.
* Possess basic knowledge of Python to execute and potentially modify scripts within a Jupyter Notebook environment, under developer guidance.
* Participate in the design and implementation of risk management tools and ensure that they meet business requirements.
* Prepare functional specifications for system enhancements and guide developers in understanding the business context.
* Conduct data validation and testing to ensure the reliability and accuracy of risk management systems.
Minimum Requirements
* Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical business analysis role within risk management or financial services.
* Strong knowledge of financial markets and instruments, especially in the context of risk management.
* Proficiency in SQL with the ability to perform complex data queries.
* Basic understanding of Python and experience working with Jupyter Notebook is preferred.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information to a non-technical audience.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Remote Working / Office Presence:
This hire would need to be in the office when required, at River House, near the City center. The hire will need to be prepared to come into the office 3 days per week as requested by the client.
