Infrastructure Architect - Projects and Disaster Recovery Specialist
DP World are recruiting for an Infrastructure Architect, Projects and Disaster Recovery Specialist. Working within the Regional IT Project Delivery function, you’ll work closely with the Manager of Infrastructure Architecture on IT Strategy, roadmap, technical strategies and technical architecture roadmap and provide a reliable and secure environment for all Infrastructure users across the organisation. This role requires the ability to manage a highly available uniform global environment where you must think and act in terms of business uptime and availability. Our successful candidate will design cutting-edge IT systems and ensuring business continuity and support Disaster Recovery. NOTE: There will be 10-30% travel requirement to attend team and site meetings. There may also be some adhoc travel across Europe when projects and the business require.
Responsibilities
1. This responsibly includes escalation, projects, business development, IT processes and vendor management to work with teams, PMO and Manager of Infrastructure Architecture.
2. Responsible for the planning, architecture design, and implementation of a highly-available and uniform Infrastructure solutions, capable of supporting key business applications and goals.
3. Driving annual DR tests to be performed in the Data Centres, recorded and information shared with the Audit team.
4. Conducts strategic technology planning to achieve corporate goals.
5. Responsible for designing and implementing information systems that will effectively support the architecture of the organization.
6. Documents process design and solutions to show how the current and future needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, flexible, scalable and maintainable manner.
7. When providing solutions, takes into account performance, fault tolerance, high-availability, disaster recovery, long-term support, licensing, 3rd party commitments and obligations. This to include support of ISO27001 and TISAX.
8. Solution designs and architectures make allowances for business impacts, inter-system communication, security requirements and industry best practices.
9. Have the ability to influence team members in the organization to ensure goals are achieved.
10. Attend meetings and assists communication among teams, works closely with Manager Infrastructure Architecture on key projects.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, business administration or commerce –OR- A combination of equivalent professional training and certifications, combined with a minimum of 5 years related work experience in this or equivalent position(s). Requires a strong technical IT background with broad experience across a wide range of technologies, Highly organized and able to set priorities. Requires the ability to manage multiple, complex projects on a technical level, while effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical people. Strong enterprise technology level problem solving skills with focus on business/customer risk mitigation.
Experience
Have a minimum of 5 years strong experience in IT Infrastructure; Well versed in Risk Management best practices, business continuity planning and a track record of excellent uptime. Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs. Demonstrated ability to provide timely technical support for customers. Strong organizational and planning skills with experience in establishing and improving processes & business risk mitigation strategies.
