Position Overview:
CCS are currently seeking a talented Gas Service and Breakdown Engineer to join our team. As a vital member of our service and maintenance department, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and functionality of gas systems within our client’s properties. Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine servicing and maintenance of gas appliances and systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
* Respond promptly to gas breakdowns and emergencies, diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions to restore service.
* Carry out necessary repairs and replacements to ensure the reliability and efficiency of gas installations.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, including service reports and parts used.
* Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with residents and addressing any concerns or queries in a professional manner.
Key Duties:
* Maintain job time frame and standards of the company by working efficiently and safely with a high-quality finish.
* Deliver a high-quality service to the client and their customers, respecting all individuals and meeting challenges presented.
* Carry out all works strictly in line with company procedures and all standards within the industry: - Gas Safe, Gas Regulations, code of practice and best practice.
* Attend to breakdowns and respond to urgent calls.
* Order parts and manage own jobs to ensure fast resolution of the client’s issue or fault.
* Book out parts on PDA.
* Clear each job from the handheld device and back-office system as completed.
* Ensure all PPE is present and correct at all times.
* Ensure all equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
* Keep all appointments and inform CCS tenants/clients accordingly.
* Carry out duties as required by any senior manager or staff representing such manager.
* Stay up to date with all gas safety legislation and codes of practice involving your discipline.
* Report variations to any works and update administration department of changes to requirements on site.
* Engage and attend all staff briefings and company functions.
* Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
* Liaise with all other engineers and staff to ensure targets are reached, organizing electrical works and building works on any installation.
* Produce a safety certificate or job sheet for all works, and any other reports or records required for the works.
* Submit a valid and accurate time sheet, delivery notes, expenses, and any other documentation weekly.
* Participate in Company Callout rota.
Skills/Qualifications:
* General competence in Commercial and Domestic Gas CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
* C&G Energy efficiency.
* NVQ 2 or equivalent.
* Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility, and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.
* Good fault-finding skills.
Experience Required:
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
* Experience of working within the Social Housing or Housing Associations market on gas installation projects and maintenance contracts.
* Experience of working with residents and clients directly.
* A clean UK driving license and DBS check will be required.
