Quality & Sustainability Manager
Location: Uxbridge (Hybrid working - 3 days office)

Company: A leading packaging and graphics company.
Role: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability and Quality Manager to join their team. You will develop and help lead the site’s integrated Quality & Environmental Management System, maintaining the company’s management system documentation to ensure compliance with our accreditation standards. Monitor and provide performance data to the Board Representative relating to company objectives, and oversee the internal audit schedule and internal non-conformance system in response to customer complaints. To support with the upkeep of the B Corp and EcoVadis Social and Sustainability accreditations.
Responsibilities
* Be flexible, in line with the demands placed on the business.
* Develop the Management system to better support, contribute to, and integrate within the organisation's business plan and long-term strategy.
* Positively contribute to executive policy and strategy development.
* Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards.
* Monitor departmental performance against company objectives, and provide regular data to the Board Representative for review.
* Monitor the company Aspects and Legal Registers to ensure compliance and raise any concerns to the Board.
* Oversee the Internal Audit Schedule and plan a program of internal audits to regularly check conformance to agreed SOPs and working practices.
* Organise and perform some Internal Audits in accordance with the schedule, taking account of commercial time restraints when necessary.
* Monitor business performance, documenting customer complaints and non-conformances, and investigating issues fully to understand their root cause(s).
* Liaise and cooperate with quality management and standards bodies (BSI Group) and to make yourself available for Surveillance and Certification visits.
* Communicate professionally and effectively at all times.
* Be commercially aware at all times.
* Help promote a quality culture and performance improvement throughout the business.
* Adhere to the companies’ combined Quality & Environmental Policy, and ensure its continued compliance with applicable requirements (ISO 9001/14001 etc.).
* Document, maintain, audit and adhere to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Observe Company Values and positively promote these within your daily activities.
Requirements
* Experience within a quality / sustainability role.
* Packaging / graphic / print experience preferred but NOT essential.
* Quality management system experience.
* Understanding of ISO quality systems - 9001 and/OR 14001.
* Proven track record of successful audit planning.
* Attention to detail and ability to work in a methodical and logical way, tackling problem-solving in a pragmatic and practical way.
* Effective communication skills at all levels.
* Report writing skills and the ability to analyse data.
