Closing date is 21st March 2025 but we encourage early applications Due to continued demand and growth of our consultancy services, we are looking for a senior economic advisory consultant to join our Value Management Techno-Economic Assessment group. We are looking for someone to elevate our economic consultancy service to the next level. The candidate will have an extensive network of contacts within the field of strategy and economic advisory and will be up to the challenge of generating new business for our rapidly growing consultancy team. The preferred applicant will have demonstrable experience of winning and delivering strategy or economic advice and insight into government and major corporations, regarding taxation, budgets and spending, monetary and fiscal policy. Our work in the area of economic advisory is wide-ranging, covering economic assessment of complex engineering projects, development of cost and financial modelling using top-down and bottom-up approaches, developing LCOE models, performing value for money assessments and social value measurement, constructing business cases and performing economic assurance reviews, to market analysis of supply and demand, macroeconomic impacts and calculation of GVA and jobs. With this appointment, we expect to significantly increase our market presence in the strategy and economic advisory space. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced at business development / proposal writing, and proficient in overseeing technical delivery. What you’ll be doing Developing an accurate picture of current and future market trends in order to establish and continuously improve our offering across the sector Maintain an active pipeline of economic consultancy business opportunities aligned with the business plan Making strategic and economic cases for a wide range of technical economic development projects and programmes Overseeing impact assessments of projects and programmes that show their value to society and value for money Managing projects comprising data and evidence collection and complex analysis to make a compelling case for change Requirements The qualified applicant will meet the following minimum requirements: Experience of growing new business services and proven ability to generate new business Extensive experience in a consultancy environment A portfolio of advisory for high-profile national / international projects and clients. Expertise in providing advice and insight into government(s) regarding taxation, budgets and spending, and monetary / fiscal policy. Degree qualified in the following or related disciplines: Economics Business Mathematics Finance Data Science Politics Social research Highly experienced in delivering / overseeing the application of government and regulatory business case guidance such as HM Treasury’s Green Book and / or WebTAG. Experience in our target growth markets: Health Energy Sustainability Transport & infrastructure Advanced manufacturing Defence The ideal candidate will have skill in some of the following key skills: Business case modelling & cost-benefit analysis Data interrogation & validation Strategy and value management Workforce planning & transformation Advanced analytical tools in a range of software applications Project management Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
