Essential Pharma are looking a Head of Supply Chain & Procurement. You will be responsible for leading the overall strategy, planning, and execution of the supply chain and procurement functions. You will lead all supply chain activities, including sourcing, supplier relationship management, S&OP/demand planning, inventory control, logistics, integration of new products into the portfolio always maintaining full GxP compliance.
What You Will Do
Reporting into the CFO you will lead initiatives to improve supply chain processes, focusing on efficiency, cost savings, compliance and risk mitigation.
Develop and manage a small team ensuring they deliver to company goals and grow within the company.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of newly acquired products and new partners into the business and management of changes to requirements in relation to supply of products.
Monitor and manage global supply chain disruptions, identifying alternative sourcing solutions.
Manage and maintain strong relationships with global and local suppliers, establishing and monitoring appropriate KPIs and ensuring performance and adherence to quality and service standards.
Oversee demand forecasting, inventory management, and scheduling to meet market needs and regulatory timelines.
Proactive risk management that ensures appropriate inventory levels, balancing just-in-time delivery with safety stock to prevent shortages.
Oversee the transportation, storage & pre-wholesaler partners, including cold chain logistics and hazardous material handling, adhering to GDP (Good Distribution Practices).
Prepare and manage the procurement and supply chain budget, provide regular reports and analysis on procurement performance, savings, and supply chain risk management.
Provide leadership for Supply Chain and Procurement on S&OP, senior SRM oversight, cross-functional alignment and negotiation on pricing/COGs.

Essential Pharma is an international specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to maintaining access to clinically differentiated, niche medicines in small patient populations. Our high-impact portfolio includes over 300 medicines covering ten therapeutic areas, with a focus on the central nervous system (CNS), gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and rare diseases. Our products treat patients in more than 70 countries.
We are proactive in identifying low volume, difficult-to-manufacture therapeutic products, and late-stage clinical development assets that target rare diseases. Our recent acquisition of Renaissance Pharmaceuticals is a significant milestone for Essential Pharma, the groups second product for treatment of a rare disease, and the first development-stage asset in our portfolio.
Our UK Operations team is comprised of 60 people, based out of our Egham, Surrey office, five minutes’ drive from Egham Train Station situated on the Thorpe Industrial Estate. We also have colleagues based in Malta, France, Spain and Switzerland.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's or master's in supply chain, CIPs qualification or similar.
Extensive experience leading teams in supply chain and procurement.
Proven expertise gained working in a partnership based, lean business model with an emphasis on third party relationship management (CMO, Logistics)
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations gained in a business with a broad portfolio of products (GDP, cGMP)
