Job Title – Corporate Event Manager | Business Development
Location – Dundee
Client – Corporate Travel Management – Events Division
Role – We are looking for a business development manager to operate within the corporate travel industry, utilising their knowledge of the industry to increase sales and growth of our clients corporate events division. This will be followed through with organising the events you have sold from start to finish and being the main point of contact for the client.
Due to increased demand and re-organisation this is an expanded position. The successful candidate will receive full training on the industry specific software. This position would be an excellent opportunity for a Travel or Events Consultant to take the next step or an individual involved in the leisure industry looking to break into the Travel sector.
Key Responsibilities –
Event Management
Plan events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives ensuring event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur.
Preparing budgets for the event and ensure adherence alongside sourcing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers.
Coordinate all event operations.
Lead promotional activities for the event.
Supervise all staff (event coordinators, caterers etc.)
Business Development
While this is primarily an events management role the client has asked that during quieter periods or while their are no events scheduled they assume a business development role to promote and sell the events they can organise. This will involve:-
Contacting potential and existing clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
Promote the business through social media channels and other activities.
Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
Salary – Includes commission and performance related bonus
Commission – Participate in the BDM and Events Travel Commission Scheme.
Hours – Core Hours 37.5 per week. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with 30minute unpaid lunch break.
Holidays – 28 Days per annum plus 4 bank holidays.
Pension – Enhanced employer contribution of 4%
