Operating across both the UK and Ireland markets and employing almost 2,000 people, we are at a pivotal stage in our journey, and we need a Group Finance Director to help drive our financial strategy and performance across the group. Job Summary: Reporting to the CFO, The Group Finance Director will play a pivotal role in the strategic direction of the company's financial health, overseeing all financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting, risk management, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role will require a strong leader with deep financial expertise, capable of managing complex financial systems, delivering insights to the executive team, and driving growth while mitigating risks. Salary: £80k to £110k, DOE ( the successful candidate will also avail of Profit Share/Equity Earn options) Job Title: Group Finance Director Location: Belfast, Head Office Reports To: Chief Financial Officer / Board of Directors Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Financial Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with the companys goals and objectives in the healthcare industry. Provide financial insights and guidance to the CFO, SLT and Board for decision-making purposes. Oversee long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Evaluate opportunities for growth, cost management, and strategic investments in the healthcare sector, including expansion, acquisitions, and partnerships Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of management & financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports). Review and monitor key financial metrics, providing regular reports to the CFO and Board. Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring all financial practices & policies are transparent and well-documented. Risk Management & Internal Controls: Ensure the company remains fully compliant with healthcare-related financial regulations, including tax laws, billing regulations, and reimbursement protocols. Ensure robust internal controls and processes are in place to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. Lead the companys treasury function, ensuring proper liquidity management. Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture. Ensure the finance team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to meet the companys goals. Oversee the recruitment, training, and professional development of finance staff. Investor Relations: Supportrelationships with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present financial performance reports and updates to investors and analysts. Work closely with the CFO to communicate financial strategies to stakeholders. Operational Finance: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, payroll, and other core finance functions. Drive improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency. Prepare financial presentations, reports, and briefings for shareholders, investors, and other stakeholders to communicate financial performance, risks, and strategies. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Strategy: Support due diligence processes for potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. Work closely with external advisors (lawyers, accountants) to evaluate financial terms and structures of transactions. Key Requirements & Specifications: Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification. Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred). Experience: Minimum of seven years in a senior financial management role, with at least five years in a leadership position such as Finance Director Experience in handling acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, particularly within Ireland and the UK. Strong experience in corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with M&A processes and integrations. Skills: Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. High-level proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
