We have an opening from April 2025 for a Cello Teacher to join our team of visiting music professionals. The number of lessons depends on the demands each term, but at present we are able to offer a minimum of 2.5 hours per week; our intention is to build on this.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teaching boys from Year 4 up to and including Year 8 to Grade 8 level as appropriate on their instrument/theory.
2. Delivering 35-minute lessons on a weekly basis for each student across the academic year as timetabled by the Music Department Administrator. There will be breaks.
3. Possible addition of Theory teaching (ABRSM to Grade 5) for a suitable candidate.
4. Submitting accurate records thereof.
5. Following the ABRSM and Trinity Examination specifications as appropriate, preparing students fully for examinations.
6. Liaising regularly and effectively with the Music Department Administrator to assist with the timetabling of lessons.
7. Preparing students fully for performances and auditions as appropriate.
8. Advising and encouraging pupils to take advantage of appropriate musical activities such as choirs, ensembles, competitions, and other musical opportunities.
9. Being aware of the individual needs of pupils by liaising with the Director of Music, Teachers, Tutors, and parents as appropriate.
10. Providing assessment information and written reports as required.
11. Contributing to the Extra-Curricular Music programme when appropriate.
12. Participating in such meetings as are deemed appropriate by the Director of Music, including annual Safeguarding training.
13. Attending termly concerts and, where appropriate, accompanying/supporting their students in performance.
14. Undertaking other reasonable tasks relevant to the needs of the School as the need arises.
