Longfield Medical Centre in Maldon have an exciting opportunity within our purpose-built dispensary centre. We are looking to recruit a permanent dispensary assistant to cover all areas of dispensary duties within our practice. This position is offered on a part-time basis, hours to be confirmed. Duties will include: Receiving and processing prescription requests. Maintaining stock of drugs and related stationery. Ordering pharmaceutical stock. Security and the safe custody of medicines, including compliance with the law relating to controlled drugs. Maintaining a practical knowledge of the ‘Drug Tariff’ and endorsing prescriptions for the ‘Pricing Bureau’ at the end of each month. Checking and ensuring fee exemptions at the point of prescription collection. Respecting and adhering to the ‘Code of Confidentiality’ at all times. Daily reconciliation of the dispensary till and credit card terminal. Performing any other duties as requested to assist with the efficiency and smooth running of both the dispensary and practice. About the Candidate If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you. You will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent desirable but a trainee applicant would be considered. Well-motivated and able to work well under pressure. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
