Our client, a well-established construction company, is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team in Redhill. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to financial planning, reporting, and process management in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Track expenditures against budgets, analyse variances, and update budget forecasts
* Prepare, update, and monitor cash flow statements, P&L reports, and balance sheets
* Assist in financial planning, cost control, and resource allocation
* Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual finance reports
* Provide documentation for external and internal audits to ensure compliance
* Maintain accurate finance records, contracts, and documents
* Act as a point of contact for suppliers, clients, and auditors regarding finance queries
* Oversee the general ledger and sub ledger to ensure correct reconciliation of transactions
* Handle accounts payable, including invoice verification, approval, and payment processing
* Maintain and update the sales and purchase ledger
* Reconcile bank statements and accounts
* Utilise Xero, Excel, and Microsoft Office to support finance management and data analysis
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar finance role
* Strong understanding of finance processes, reporting, and reconciliations
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
* Proficiency in finance software (Xero preferred), Excel, and Microsoft Office
* Strong communication and organisational skills
