Project Delivery Manager (Laboratory Services)
RPS are looking for a Project Delivery Manager to support our highly respected and knowledgeable Laboratory team. This is a Permanent, full-time role, based at the Bedford laboratory with a fixed working pattern of 9:00am to 5:00pm to facilitate communication with various teams and clients during core working hours.
Who we are
We operate from purpose-built laboratory facilities which have a long history of providing expert advice and analytical solutions to the agrochemical sector. Our laboratories enjoy an international reputation for solving complex and novel analytical problems in a wide variety of food, feed and forage crops.
The Role
As part of the Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all contract work performed is as per the project requirements and management of the overall customer experience. As each project framework is bespoke, the requirements vary but generally responsibilities include management of sampling and logistic schedules, ensuring samples are scheduled for the correct work, review, and management of WIP, subcontractor management, ensuring reports are issued on-time and meet project requirements, hosting regular customer meetings, contract and other administrative review and query resolution, and tracking and reporting KPIs. To achieve this, you will need to interface with multiple client representatives and teams in the laboratory.
What will you be doing
* Managing a portfolio of projects including creating and managing timelines, budgets, KPIs, and ensuring all project documents are organised and up to date.
* Active management of the Customer Experience (CX) by providing consistent and integrated service to clients.
* Lead and represent the business in meetings with customers, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
* Ensure customers receive timely reports and updates and that any queries are followed up swiftly.
* Record and manage actions and ensure they are performed on-time.
* Communicate with various Laboratory Teams to ensure smooth delivery of work.
* Ensure all jobs are reported in a timely and accurate manner.
* Responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy working area.
* Any other tasks as agreed with Line Manager.
Your Skills and Qualifications
* Extensive years’ experience in laboratory/science related project management with demonstrated project delivery and meeting client requirements.
* Experience in developing and leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to make robust decisions based on available information.
* Working effectively with large datasets in Excel and other database formats.
* Good attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision independently as well as part of a team.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Previous experience of working in a laboratory setting and using LIMS software would be advantageous.
