Willing to work with ex offenders who have learning disabilities and have experience trauma.
They must be strong minded, resilient in character and able to set strong but fair boundaries with the people they support.
There is no physical challenging behaviours but at times, there can be verbal.
There is a strong interest across the group in activities in the community, this will involve things like playing football, go karting, cinemas and walks and this will be for the support worker and service user to arrange together, planning ahead. This can be extremely enjoyable support for someone with similar interests.
This will be almost always lone working, 1-1 support in a residential setting.
The successful person will be happy with:
A shift pattern of 5 days on, 2 days off – every other weekend off.
Working hours are 9-4, 4-11+ sleep – for example a week would look like this Monday 9-4 Tuesday 4-11 + sleep, Wed 9-4, Thursday 4-11+ sleep and then Friday 9-4. They would then be off 4pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday before starting the same pattern again Monday. The weeks in which they are working weekends, they will start on the Wednesday and finish Sunday PM and then have Monday and Tuesday off. Just as an example.
They will be looking for a permanent contract and be happy to work a three month probationary period via the agency before they move across permanently
