Project Engineer - Plant

We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join a thriving team based in Exeter.
This full-time, day-shift position plays a vital role in maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, services, buildings, and grounds to meet current and future business demands.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer, your duties will include:
1. Developing project plans for machine rearrangement, equipment installation, process improvements, and cost reduction projects.
2. Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and procuring machinery and equipment.
3. Supervising subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with company and health and safety requirements.
4. Leading cost-saving initiatives and identifying method improvement opportunities.
5. Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement projects, managing receipts, and raising purchase requisitions.
6. Providing technical expertise and analysis to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation.
7. Enhancing equipment reliability by identifying and addressing recurring faults and reducing downtime.
8. Assisting the Maintenance team with fault finding on-site and on machinery.
9. Driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment.
10. Creating and maintaining technical documentation for new and existing equipment.
Project Engineer Requirements
The ideal Project Engineer will possess:
1. A qualification of HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Controls, or Mechanical Engineering, along with at least 1 year of relevant technical experience in an engineering environment.
2. The ability to identify and resolve recurring reliability issues and draft maintenance procedures.
3. CAD and business systems experience (e.g., Oracle, MP2, or automation) is highly desirable.
4. Proficiency in analysing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for critical equipment.
5. Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Microsoft Project is advantageous.
6. Multiskilled experience across electrical and mechanical disciplines is a plus.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
