Uffculme School is looking for committed, skilled and enthusiastic experienced teachers to join the team. The school has grown rapidly over the past three years and the number of classes has been increased to help accommodate the number of pupils attending Uffculme.
Uffculme School offers co-education for children and young people of the ages 3 to 19 years from all parts of the city. Our students represent the wide cultural mix that makes up the general population of Birmingham. We are a successful school with a long and proven track record of providing high quality education for young people with a primary diagnosis of ASD. We currently cater for over 300 children over three sites.
The successful candidates for these posts will have the experience and enthusiasm to take the next step in their careers. They will be able to evidence their contribution to date in special school environments in school improvement, as well as demonstrate their ability to work as part of a wider team to support staff in achieving the best possible outcomes for our students. They will have had experience of working with a range of different needs, and have some knowledge and understanding of how to utilise different communication methods to enable all of out students to be heard.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a passion for ensuring that all children have access to high quality education, tailored to their individual needs, who also wants to develop their skills as a teacher further.
We require a candidate who
* is a qualified teacher
* has experience of working in a Special school
* has significant experience of working with children and young people with Special Needs, specifically ASC
* has knowledge and understanding of meeting the needs of a range of children and young people with complex learning needs
* has experience of leading and managing a team of teaching assistants
* is able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* understands the need for confidentiality
* is familiar with the unique processes, challenges and opportunities present in Birmingham
* is an excellent communicator with the ability to show sensitivity and objectivity in dealing with confidential issues
