Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You would have the opportunity to work with a wide spectrum of clients with differing levels of need and severity and at different life stages (excluding first episode psychosis). You would have the opportunity to develop skills in delivering a variety of interventions depending on clients' needs and presenting difficulties.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, including psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, lifespan developmental psychology as certified by the BPS.
2. Current HCPC registration as Practitioner Psychologist.
3. Willingness to undertake Advanced Training in CBTp and Family Intervention in Psychosis if not yet completed.
Desirable criteria
1. Two or more distinct psychological therapies.
2. Advanced Diploma in CBT (for Psychosis or SMI).
Experience
Essential criteria
1. Experience of psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings.
2. Experience of working with a wide variety of service users from across the whole life span, presenting with problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and the threat of physical abuse.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of delivering cognitive behavioural therapy with clients experiencing psychosis.
2. Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.
Skills
Essential criteria
1. Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention, and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
2. Ability to work as part of a wider team of professionals.
3. Ability to use outcome measures and integrate these into therapy.
Desirable criteria
1. Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
2. Ability to provide a culturally competent and non-stigmatising service including an awareness of the potential impact of discrimination and disadvantage on mental health.
