Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Geotechnical Specialist to join our team in the power sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on major power projects that link the UK's renewable power to its major towns and cities.
About the Role
As a member of our geotechnical department's design team, you will report to a Principal Geotechnical Engineer and collaborate with a project team to deliver projects that meet exacting standards, adhere to budget constraints, and align with project timelines throughout the conceptual, detailed design, and construction phases.
* Manage projects from the initial desk study phase through ground model development, site investigation, ground model refinement, and foundation design.
* Conduct geotechnical investigations and prepare detailed reports for clients.
* Perform slope stability analyses, settlement calculations, and other related assessments.
* Develop and implement geotechnical designs for various infrastructure projects.
* Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to deliver successful projects.
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic individual with a passion for green energy.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering, geology, geotechnical engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical or civil engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
* Ideally a member of a professional institution and working towards chartership with ICE or GSL.
* Enthusiastic and flexible approach to work.
* Self-motivated and results-oriented.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Hold a valid UK driving licence.
