Lead Veterinary Surgeon Position for New Independent Practice in Surrey About: A newly opened independent veterinary practice in Surrey, in January 2024. The facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including ultrasound, x-ray, dental x-ray, and an Idexx lab, with plans to expand their capabilities with an endoscope and CT scanner. A spacious and thoughtfully designed clinic features separate dog and cat waiting areas, three consulting rooms, two theatres, a large prep area, dedicated CT scan space, and comfortable wards for dogs and cats. Position: Lead Veterinary Surgeon The Role: This is a full-time position, working 4 days per week (9 am - 7 pm) with a 1 in 2 Saturday rotation (9 am - 1 pm) and no on-call or out-of-hours commitments, ensuring a healthy work-life balance. This clinic, are seeking an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon who is ready to take on a leadership role, with potential growth toward a directorship. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of clinical experience (UK or equivalent), strong surgical and medical skills, and a commitment to exceptional animal care. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, enjoy teamwork, be comfortable in sole-charge situations, and share this practices values of trustworthiness, compassion, care, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Provide high standards of clinical care to patients and clients with empathy and professionalism. Offer guidance and leadership to colleagues, upholding clinical standards and promoting continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, including drug management and health & safety regulations. Conduct consultations, surgeries, and patient treatments. Participate in the recruitment and development of staff. Collaborate with team members to support exceptional patient care and drive practice growth. Oversee stock management and sourcing, as well as locum arrangements as needed. What's On Offer: Up to £78,000, depending on experience. Workplace pension.
