Our client is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on their Yorkshire Water AMP7/AMP8 contracts in Leeds.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of our Commercial Team responsible for the commercial management of the AMP7 frameworks.
The role will cover three YW AMP7/AMP8 frameworks including Infrastructure, Customer Focused, and Minor Civils clean and wastewater capital works. Under NEC4 ECC options A, B, C, and E contracts, each individual project is under competitive tender with budgets ranging from £100k to £10m.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
1. Manage, assist, and advise on commercial influences around Cost and Value reporting and changes required to ensure profit targets are met.
2. Ensure cash is received on time and aligned to forecast targets.
3. WIP management, ensuring it is kept at an optimum level for the contract.
4. Be an effective negotiator at both internal and client levels.
5. Production and presentation of Monthly CVRs/Profit and Loss accounts.
6. Ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collection.
7. Oversee the procurement and management of sub-contractor applications and payments and other suppliers.
8. Cash flow and aged debt reporting.
9. Develop and implement changes to processes following an understanding of the need to improve performance.
10. Management of the Early Warning and Compensation Event process.
11. Manage and support other commercial team members.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
1. Previous experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably gained within Utilities Contracting.
2. BSc in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other related subject is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant experience within our sector.
3. Detailed understanding and previous experience of NEC contracts.
4. The ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels.
5. Capability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement.
6. Full driving licence as there will be an element of site-based travel involved within the role.
