Description Wood Process & Energy is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering excellence in their assigned project(s)on a staff basis. Hybrid Working - working from home and some days a week expected in our Glasgow office. Responsibilities You will be required to coordinate and deliver the engineering for an assigned project scope to a schedule and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and standards. Responsibilities: This is a key role that encompasses the management of others for the quality and timely delivery of the work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. Lead the engineering team, supported by the Discipline Lead Engineers Contribute and participate in the maintenance of safe working practices and the assessment and mitigation of safety issues through effort and reviews in design Work together with the Project Teams and Department Heads to achieve Project objectives. Work in coordination with HSE, procurement, subcontracting & project control, Understand project execution and work sequences, relating this to schedule and budget; managing and reporting against these, maintaining the highest level of quality in deliverables and activities Manage the day-to-day interfacing between the Projects and the disciplines of Process, Piping, Mechanical, Structural, and E&I and specialist disciplines along with Global Execution Centre (India). Manage the engineering and technical interface between client engineering, asset and operations teams to ensure a consistent approach between engineering designs and client requirements and approaches. To monitor and review engineering progress with Project Controls and Engineering disciplines. To review engineering budgets and performance and initiate control measures including adjustments to manning levels Act as a focal point for discipline leads for multi-discipline issues that require expediting or resolution Collate actions and expedite the closure of the outstanding actions with appropriate design disciplines Integration of design schedule to procurement and/or fabrication schedules Be competent in Design Verification; highlight areas of concern and be able to affect corrective actions Prepare and check the scope of work specifications, project procedures, and project reports Ensure that all Engineering Team responsibilities and competencies are matched to project requirements and that the Authorised Engineers list is used. Ensure that the team are working to the client procedures, specifications and standards and to any project-specific agenda. Organise, attend, chair, contribute, and prepare reports for safety reviews and other multidiscipline meetings such as Plot Plan, Model and Constructability reviews. Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required. Engender team attitude to deliver designs safe to build and operate. Ensure the team knows and works to procedures in order to be efficient and right the first time. Support workshare opportunities and to assist relevant PM in achieving technical integrity of distributed work. Who we are looking for: Recognized Qualification in an engineering discipline Preferable chartered engineer and member of a recognized institution Relevant proven experience in multidiscipline engineering management within engineering and procurement projects for the Process and Energy or Oil and Gas industry Knowledge, skills and experience: Understands and knows how to apply the procedures and work practices which define and govern Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables Understands the importance of Project Engineering deliverables and the need for accuracy and timely issue Fully conversant with project scopes and work carried out by all engineering disciplines and various interface and inter discipline coordination requirements among the various disciplines including procurement and construction Commercially astute and aware of the importance of Change control Has a good knowledge of engineering standards, procedures and work practices; follows project execution flow chart; developing skills in project and technical execution Able to lead small team; develops skills of leadership with minimum intervention from manager CDM experience is a preference Extensive experience gained either as a discipline engineer in a project environment or in more junior project engineering roles Good understanding of technical work scope, key dates and milestones Completely familiar with project contractual and commercial requirements Understands the concept of customer satisfaction and is able to deliver to internal customers, including other Engineering disciplines Good Negotiation and Presentation skills Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
