The Manufacturing Engineering Manager reports to the Plant Manager (Liverpool Plant). The successful incumbent will manage a team of engineers and technicians, creating project plans and setting technical objectives coupled with providing guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the project lifecycles.
What will your responsibilities be?
Reporting to the Plant Manager on a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate’s duties will include:
1. Managing a team of engineers and technicians, creating project plans and setting technical objectives coupled with providing guidance, mentorship and support throughout the project lifecycles.
2. Providing strategic direction in the projects.
3. Ensure application and improvement of Advanced Manufacturing tools and processes globally.
4. Quality execution of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering tasks as defined on PLUS timeline.
5. Providing manufacturing engineering expertise to product innovation process to build manufacturability into new product design.
In addition to the above, the job holder will also focus on the management of on-site manufacturing engineering improvements which specifically include some of the following:
6. Stimulate continuous improvement process in plants (KAIZEN, DO IT) with the objective of MEQ,
7. Work with SD-Teams to complete product launches.
8. Monitor assembly equipment through development and production startup,
9. Stimulate TPM in new projects.
10. Ensure that process MTM and CTPS are reported out and in compliance with the company objectives,
11. Monitor and audit adaptation of manufacturing best practices and standards in the plant.
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
12. Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Engineering (Mechanical or industrial)
13. Proven high level experience in a manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering role with managerial experience essential.
14. OEM or Tier One automotive seating or interior trim work experience essential
15. High volume automotive manufacturing engineering work experience desired.
16. Project management experience essential
17. Budgeting and cost control essential
18. Engineering management and strategic planning essential
19. Lean manufacturing
20. Strong IT and manufacturing skills
21. Previous launch experience essential
22. Plant layout using AUTO CAD.
23. Equipment selection, purchasing and installation.
