Facilities Engineer for Aerospace Precision Production Site
Facilities Engineer required for a high-tech Aerospace manufacturing site to perform building and equipment maintenance, corrective repairs, and modifications to the Production Plant.
You will be responsible for applying fixes to productive equipment in an office environment and precision engineering research and design facility containing hazardous chemicals and high-pressure gas systems.
The ideal candidate will have a very practical attitude and experience in building maintenance tasks in various fields, e.g.
1. Carpentry
2. Electrical
3. HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
4. Plumbing
5. Compressor and boiler maintenance
6. Site vehicle upkeep
7. Machine shop fabrication including welding
You will have:
1. Plumbing, carpentry, and fabrication experience.
2. Hand and electrical tools understanding.
3. Machine shop equipment knowledge, including lathes, band/chop saws, pillar drills, grinders, etc.
4. Welding and fabrication skills, City and Guilds Level 2 minimum, Level 3 preferred, or similar structural welding qualification.
5. ASME certification would be an advantage.
6. Basic working knowledge of PC applications, such as Word and Excel.
7. Experience in a facilities maintenance or engineering fabrication environment.
Role will involve:
1. General site fixes, repairs, and maintenance activities.
2. Installing new appliances and equipment.
3. Site project works, such as new test and production facilities installations and commissioning.
4. Fabrication and welding.
5. Liaising with, arranging, and managing external contractors.
6. Inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment and systems (e.g., ventilation).
7. Checking site control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
8. Providing and assembling office and production area furniture, shelving, racking, as required.
9. Upkeep of site vehicles.
