We are seeking a highly organised Assistant Scheduler to coordinate, plan and manage all engineer maintenance operations to ensure efficient workflow allocations, based in Manchester. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to balance planned and reactive work efficiently. This is a permanent role paying up to £28k p.a. Benefits: Competitive salary 30 days of holiday, including bank holidays Medical Health Cash Plan Company Sick Pay Enhanced Pension Contribution Life Assurance Scheme Access to a range of benefits via Perkbox, including Wellbeing packagesAbout the Role: Key responsibilities include: Planning and scheduling jobs for technicians, ensuring efficient workforce allocation Collaborating with the commercial and customer service teams to book jobs onto the system Managing the scheduling of both reactive and planned works Communicating regularly with technicians, addressing any operational challenges Proactively planning work schedules to optimize labor allocation Liaising with the Operations Manager to identify and resolve staffing issues Monitoring job progress to ensure timely completion Adjusting schedules in response to emergency and reactive work requirements Overseeing the on-call roster to maintain adequate coverage Identifying potential workforce shortages and proposing solutions Continuously improving scheduling processes to enhance customer service Maximizing the utilization of internal technicians in line with business KPIs Ensuring targeted revenue is achieved and monitoring job progress Escalating any performance or conduct issues to the Service Manager in a timely manner Providing a full job debrief to lead technicians regarding chemicals, consumables, and equipment Identifying and addressing any shortfalls in job requirements for reactive and planned works Notifying the Project Manager or service/account manager of any staffing or equipment shortages Managing travel costs by optimizing job assignments based on employee locations Adjusting schedules as needed to resolve any reported discrepancies Working with Project Managers to ensure scheduling maximizes project margins Booking hire equipment for planned and reactive works only Ensuring equipment hire and off-hire processes are managed within required timelines to control costs Supporting the implementation of the company’s Health & Safety Management System within OperationsAbout You: Previous experience in scheduling with a strong understanding of CRM and resource planning tools Excellent administrative skills with strong attention to detail and organization Effective communicator with a personable and approachable demeanour Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-functional team Strong prioritization and time management skills to handle a dynamic workload Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes Flexible to work outside standard office hours and participate in an on-call system Ability to engage with people empathetically while maintaining a focus on operational objectivesIf you are interested then please click the APPLY button now.
