Job Title: ESOL Tutor Location: Worcestershire (based in Redditch with community-based delivery) Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Hours: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week) Contract Type: Permanent Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ESOL Tutor to join our Worcestershire team. This rewarding role involves delivering engaging and high-quality learning opportunities to adult learners aged 19, with a primary focus on English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) – there will also be some ad-hoc delivery of vocational courses. In this role, you will support learners across Entry 1 to Level 2, helping them develop their English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Your goal will be to empower individuals to build confidence, enhance their employability prospects, and achieve personal and professional aspirations. Delivery will align with academic standards and AEB funding requirements, ensuring learners achieve positive outcomes, such as further education, employment, or integration into the community. Key Responsibilities: Deliver ESOL Qualifications: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality ESOL programs to meet the needs of learners at varying ability levels (Entry 1 to Level 2). Tailored Learning: Support a diverse range of learners, adapting delivery methods to accommodate individual learning needs and goals. Skills Development: Focus on developing learners' language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as their understanding of British culture and society to aid integration. Learner Engagement: Inspire and motivate learners to achieve their personal, professional, and educational goals. Progress Monitoring: Track and assess learner progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Compliance: Ensure delivery meets academic standards and complies with AEB funding requirements. Employment Preparation: Incorporate employability and life skills into ESOL delivery to enhance learners' readiness for work and community participation. Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, employers, and stakeholders to provide learners with additional opportunities and support. Inclusive Environment: Foster an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere, encouraging confidence and active participation among learners. Essential Criteria: A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., CTLLS, PTLLS, AET, PGCE). Experience delivering ESOL courses to adult learners, including proficiency in teaching Entry Level through Level 2. Strong knowledge of AEB funding and compliance requirements within adult education. Proficiency in IT, including the ability to use digital tools to support both teaching and administrative tasks. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds. A passion for working with learners whose first language is not English and supporting their integration into the community. Commitment to meeting KPIs and delivering measurable outcomes. Desirable Criteria: Experience embedding employability skills or British Values within ESOL delivery. ESOL related teaching qualification (e.g TEFL, CELTA, TESOL, DELTA) Knowledge of the local labour market, including opportunities for ESOL learners in Worcestershire.
