Quantity Surveyor
My client based in Newbury is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with 2+ years of experience in construction or civils to work with the Buying, Contracts, Estimating & Finance Departments. Reporting to the Operations Director and Department Heads.
Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor
Cost Reconciliation Reporting Coordinating monthly reporting from CMs
Reviewing CMs monthly cost reports
Completing monthly project cost report summary for the board
Tracking changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections in line with these.
Contract Cashflow Coordinating CMs monthly project cashflow updates
Updating contract master cashflow
Groundwork Procurement Bills of Quantities
Tender packages and tender return analysis
Placing POs and managing cost budgets
Groundwork Valuations Agreeing GW valuations on major projects in conjunction with CM
Settling Final Accounts
Estimating Department Production of groundwork BoQs at tender stage for specialist projects
Key Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor
2+ years QS experience within the construction sector
Good IT skills and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
The ability to work in a team
Negotiation skills
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
