Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Auditing and ensuring compliance with licenses, environmental permits, and specific working plans.
2. Reviewing all monitoring data collected, providing guidance and corrective actions on identified problems, and preparing monitoring reports and submissions to both external and internal bodies in compliance with permits.
3. Liaising closely with the team to ensure best practice and timely reporting of incidents and accidents in line with company regulations.
4. Chairing regular safety meetings to discuss issues and act to resolve outstanding/ascending items at the EFW plant.
5. Managing appropriate actions to prevent environmental breaches or incidents.
6. Ensuring top quality of the management systems and environmental monitoring are maintained at optimum levels.
Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
1. A Degree or HND/HNC/ONC or equivalent in a relevant scientific subject, e.g., Environmental Science or similar.
2. A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
Personal Skills, Prior Experience, and Knowledge
The HSEQ Manager role would suit someone who has:
1. A strong background in health and safety gained in a heavy process environment such as a power station, chemical plant, refinery, or waste/waste management facility.
2. Good knowledge of permitting, licensing, and environmental regulations.
3. A thorough understanding of the waste/EFW industry will be highly advantageous.
