We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a category C men's Prison located in the Risley area of Warrington, Cheshire.
It has an operational capacity of 1095 people. HMP Risley is a 20 minute drive from Warrington and 30 minutes by car from Wigan.
Salary
You'll receive an hourly rate of £22.19 per hour - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Bank Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
* Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.
* Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.
* Work with individuals on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information.
* Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions.

Qualifications required
* Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
* RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
* Experience of working with opiate dependent patients.
* Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
