School Nurse (and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Thornton College is a highly successful all-girls school located in rural Buckinghamshire. Recent inspection reports have judged the school to be both ‘Excellent’ (ISI 2022) and ‘Outstanding’ (CSI 2024) in all areas. Set on a beautiful 25-acre site, we offer a warm and nurturing environment alongside a broad and exciting curriculum and co-curriculum for both day and boarding students.
We are looking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified Nurse to manage the school’s Health Centre and ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care to the whole school community. In return, the successful candidate can be sure of working with extremely dedicated colleagues in a supportive environment. Thornton can offer excellent CPD opportunities, free lunches and parking, access to the school gym, and generous fee remission.
The Health Centre operates from 8am until 4.30pm, term time only (except for boarding induction), with attendance required at school events throughout the year, some of which take place in the evening and on specific Saturdays (such as Open Day and the School Fete).
This role is 5 days a week for 42 weeks, less 33 days holidays (including bank holidays) to be taken during school holidays.
Salary: Range £29,969-£44,962 gross per annum [Pro rata =£24,206-£36,315] dependent upon experience.
