About the role:
Weâre looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a child with additional needs at a lovely school in Colchester. Every day is different, and your role will be key in providing personalized support, helping the child with their learning, emotional well-being, and social development. Whether it's assisting with classwork, encouraging confidence, or making the school day more enjoyable, YOU will be their hero!
Your day-to-day might look like this:
* Supporting the child with their learning in and out of the classroom
* Helping with specific educational tasks tailored to their needs
* Building a strong, trusting relationship
* Encouraging social interaction with other children
* Using creative techniques to engage them (think games, art, sensory play)
* Communicating closely with the class teacher and SENCO team
What weâre looking for:
* Someone with a positive, can-do attitude âš
* Previous experience working with children (especially SEND) would be amazing, but weâre open to applicants with the right heart and willingness to learn
* A true team player â working well with other staff, parents, and, of course, the child
* Patience, empathy, and a sense of fun!
