About this role
This is a full-time on-site role for a Construction Planner for multiple project sites in Abingdon, Oxford, Bullingdon & Hull in the UK. The Construction Planner will be responsible for tasks such as construction planning, project control, project planning, procurement, and overseeing construction projects in the MEP discipline of these project sites.
Initial Project Programmes:
The Construction Planner is responsible for creating the initial Baseline schedules, closely working with the Planning Manager & Planning & PC lead, by collaborating with clients, project teams, sub-contractors, and suppliers to help develop, monitor, coordinate, and maintain detailed schedules covering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Report and Forecasting Assistance (Main requirement of this role):
Working closely with the Planning Manager & Planning & PC lead, the Junior Construction Planner assists in all reporting and forecasting assistance, i.e., site report collection from the site team, site walk and validation of the acquired data, and transmitting them to the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and Maintaining Schedules: The Junior Construction Planner ensures that project schedules are accurate and up to date throughout the project life cycle.
* Commercial Milestone Tracking: They track commercial milestones during the project.
* Resource and Standalone Scheduling Support: Providing planning and resource scheduling support to Project Managers and the Operations Team.
* Work Schedule Management: Maintaining work schedules based on work requests and work front availability.
* Weekly Scheduling: Coordinating and populating weekly look-ahead schedules in advance.
* Programme Updates: Keeping programme registers updated with upcoming tenders and live project changes.
* Manning Plans: Creating manning plans based on project requirements.
Candidate Requirements
* Education: A relevant College degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Construction engineering or management.
* Software Proficiency: Familiarity and working experience with tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
* Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
* Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and analyze information.
* Initiative: A proactive team player who takes the lead when needed.
* Travel Requirement: Since this is a site-based role, should be willing to spend a day each on different project sites or as required by the project team. Willingness to travel to these sites as required is very important and essential.
