Are you ready to make a significant impact in risk management? As our Enterprise Risk Manager, you'll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive risk management insights, advice, support and challenge. You'll collaborate with colleagues in the Risk and Compliance team and right across our businesses to ensure we apply best practice in managing enterprise-wide risks.
In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for ongoing development and implementation of the AA’s Risk Management Framework. This includes developing simple, easy to use risk tools, templates and guidance, perform in-depth risk analysis and deliver reporting that provides insights our colleagues cannot ignore. You’ll support colleagues in investigating the root causes of risk events, and provide guidance on managing key risks and issues.
What will I be doing?
* Driving risk management excellence by providing insightful advice, oversight and challenge. You will collaborate with colleagues across GRC and business units/support functions to implement cutting-edge practices in managing enterprise-wide risks, including financial, strategic, operational, conduct, legal and regulatory, health and safety, and reputational risks. You’ll also help us monitor external developments to support the development of our response to emerging risks.
* Leading the charge in developing and rolling out the AA’s Risk Management Framework and standards to the first line of defence. You’ll help ensure that our risk management systems and processes not only reflect good practice, and are aligned with our business needs, but are also proportionate, innovative, and deeply embedded in our operations.
* Uncovering the root causes of risk events by liaising with teams across the lines of defence, to analyse what happened and why; and ensure we not only learn from errors but avoid repeating them by drawing out key learning points.
* Continuously reviewing and improving the Risk Management Framework. This includes the enterprise risk management policy, risk appetite statements, key risk indicators, risk acceptances, risk & control self-assessment, risk event management, and risk management training and guidance for colleagues in the first line of defence.
* Creating impactful risk reporting that delivers actionable insights to improve the risk and control awareness and understanding, and action required to address key risks. You will support delivery of reporting to Group governance committees, including the Enterprise Risk & Compliance Committee, and the Board Audit and Risk Committees.
* Performing cutting-edge risk analytics to provide deep insights into all types of risk affecting the AA. This includes stress and scenario testing, considering political, economic, social, technological, and emerging risks.
* Facilitating engaging risk identification workshops, including at executive management level, to ensure comprehensive risk identification, awareness and proactive management.
What do I need?
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
* Extensive experience in enterprise risk management, including a combination of operational risk, compliance & conduct, financial crime, IT & digital risk, and business process & control management.
* Proficiency in Risk & Control Self-Assessment.
* Proven track record in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining effective risk management programs, particularly identification of key risks and controls within a large company.
* In-depth knowledge of regulated environments.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret data and ”join the dots” across various data sets, providing timely recommendations for action to management.
* Effective communication skills that enable you to work seamlessly across all levels of our organisation.
* Strong capability in interpreting complex technical information and communicating it in simple, easy-to-understand concepts for stakeholders.
* Strong relationship and influencing skills.
* Pragmatic approach to ensuring the delivery of sustainable, compliant commercial solutions within risk appetite.
