Working hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm term time only (trust would consider part-time hours)

About the Trust: Central Surrey Health Limited provides a wide range of adult community health services in north west Surrey, and children's NHS community services across the whole of Surrey. The children's service - Children and Family Health Surrey - is delivered through a partnership service comprising CSH, Surrey's mental health provider Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and another community provider First Community Health and Care.

What you can add:
* The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the provision of health care for children and young people, aged 2-19 years, with severe/profound and multiple learning and physical difficulties.
* The senior nurse will take responsibility for managing and overseeing the school nurse and assistant practitioner within their school team.
* Develop and maintain communication with people about complex, highly sensitive matters and/or in a difficult situation.
* Have some knowledge of and instil a team approach to be able to use alternative communication means used by the children e.g. makaton, PECs.
* Responsible for communicating and receiving sensitive, complex, and sometimes contentious information relating to children and young people, relatives, and carers whilst ensuring confidentiality.
* Establish effective, appropriate communication processes with parents/guardians and carers.
* Communicate effectively with a wide range of health, education and social care professionals across professional boundaries.
The role will involve, but not be limited to performing the above.
What you'll need:
* RN (Adult), RN (Child) or RSCN, RN (LD).
* Specific children’s experience and learning disability experience.
* Mentor preparation.
* Evidence of broad clinical experiences.
* Management/leadership qualification.
* Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
* Experience of staff management.
* Evidence of professional development.
* Good understanding of current nursing workforce issues.
* Clear understanding of community health services.
* Experienced Clinical Nurse.
* Ability to work well in stressful situations.
* Experience of initiating and participating in clinical audit.
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
