This team is new within Staffordshire County Council, and is an exciting opportunity to help develop the systems in which the team will then follow through with. This role has come available due to a period of absence and therefore this is a fixed term contract for 12 months. You will ensure the coordination and development of the Team implementing and maintaining services within a defined resource and work collaboratively with external partners to ensure that mental and physical health needs are supported with parity and to ensure the service operates in a safe, effective and efficient way as part of the wider health and social care system. Hybrid from home and from the office is in place, normally ensuring an office presence 2-3 days a week. Within this role you will receive regular supervision, support for training and development including the use of my time meetings, which are allocated time with our principle social worker. Main Responsibilities In this role you'll: Have day to day responsibility for team of social workers and social care assessors Support the investigation of complaints at stage 1 where the concerns raised are not complex Ensure that Care Act and Mental Capacity Act related assessments and decisions are carried out to a high quality and comply with the relevant policies and procedures and take appropriate action where necessary Be responsible for the quality assurance of statutory documents within their scheme of delegated responsibility, ensuring appropriate and proportionate records and documentation are completed in a timely manner in relation the team’s practice Line manage Senior social workers Support to continuously develop the team, driving best practice as needed Drive and support Key performance indicators The Ideal Candidate You will have: Proven track record of supporting and leading a team. Sound knowledge and experience of current legislation in social care, including The Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act. Understanding of the needs of neurodivergent individuals and ability to guide a workforce to provide appropriate support. Experience in complex safeguarding, professional judgement, and a range of interventions.
