We have an ever-increasing number of multi utility projects to design for housing, industrial and commercial developments across the whole of the North West, North Midlands, and Yorkshire as well as expanding into the I&C market and we are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our expanding team.
Your daily responsibilities
1. Overseeing the design process for networks from LV to 11kV, including submission of designs to the network operators.
2. Designing adoptable networks from Low voltage up to and including High Voltage at 11kV/20kV.
3. Preparing and submitting design documents to DNO/IDNO/ENA G81 adoptable standards.
4. Handing over Approved Designs to the construction department once signed off.
5. Recording and processing technical/design data, updating design trackers, and internal business systems.
6. Ensuring compliance with company systems, processes, and procedures.
7. Undertaking WinDebut software calculations.
8. Specifying equipment, including Substation switchgear and associated equipment.
9. Assessing suitable substation earthing designs.
10. Designing Electric Vehicle scheme civils layouts to CPO requirements.
11. AutoCAD drafting to produce design plans and single line diagrams.
12. Instructing and tracking Land rights on projects.
13. Providing efficient support to the Design and Construction teams.
14. Liaising with clients, CPOs, DNOs, IDNOs, and external stakeholders relating to design activities.
15. Building and maintaining existing and new client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction KPI’s are met.
16. Attending client and internal meetings as required.
17. Performing general administration duties relating to the role.
About you
Ideally you will hold a HNC/HND in electrical engineering, or proven capability through experience/history. You will have strong knowledge of regulations and standards, such as ENA Engineering Recommendation G81, and experience in DNO/IDNO design approvals is essential. We need someone who is a strong communicator, who can take positive approaches to customers, clients and colleagues.
