Our client, a leading manufacturer of Aerospace mechanical precision components, is looking for a CNC Milling Setter Operator to join their innovative manufacturing team in Hemel Hempstead.
Summary:
You will join an outstanding team dedicated to manufacturing high-precision parts and components for the aerospace industry. The work involves producing small to medium batches with varying levels of complexity. This position primarily focuses on meeting the production needs of the Milling department. Additionally, you will assist in developing new manufacturing methods for New Product Introduction (NPI) parts that support our customers' innovative designs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Planning, Quality, and other teams on New Product Introductions (NPI) to develop manufacturing methods for customer designs, encompassing both prototype and repeat work.
* Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture components according to customer specifications, achieving typical tolerances of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm)
* Accurately record job timings in the company’s ERP system, Javelin, and manage the scanning on and off jobs.
* Uphold 6s standards on the shop floor to ensure a clean and organised work environment.
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities by refining processes through minor adjustments or complete re-engineering efforts.
Experience and Skills Required:
* Previous experience in the aerospace industry or a similar field is essential.
* Proficient in setting up and operating HAAS milling machines with Fanuc controls.
* Experienced in working with various materials, including stainless steel, nylon, titanium, Inconel, and aluminium, achieving typical tolerances of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm) according to customer specifications.
* Must be either apprentice-trained or qualified through experience.
* Experience in programming would be a significant advantage.
* Familiarity with operating two machines simultaneously is preferred.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to utilise a range of measuring instruments for in-process inspection (self-inspecting machined parts).
* Capable of reading and interpreting customer drawings accurately.

Benefits:
* Salary: £32,864 - £36,972, based on experience. Overtime paid at time and a half. Discretionary site bonus scheme and pay reviews.
* Hours: 39.5 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break).
