DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a Legal Assistant, located in London, to support the Books and Devices/AGI Legal Team. The successful candidate will have proven ability to complete high volumes of administrative tasks and deliver complex projects quickly with high autonomy; be confident reacting with appropriate urgency to situations that require quick responses; support multiple internal clients; and proactively and creatively solve challenges that affect the team. The candidate will be customer-obsessed, have great attention to detail and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is essential.
Key job responsibilities
This person’s responsibilities will include arranging the execution of contracts, developing and implementing simplification projects, outside counsel management including budgeting and invoicing support, developing and leading business training on legal tools, and general administration tasks needed to support the business and legal teams. The role will also involve distributing correspondence, gathering metrics, maintaining project trackers, preparing reports, maintaining files, as well as meeting coordination, organizing of travel arrangements and creating and submitting expense reports.
About the team
The role supports an international team, with lawyers in the UK and across the EU. The role is also closely integrated with colleagues in the US, and some of the work will be global in reach and impact. Some international travel is to be expected.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•The ideal candidate will have significant prior experience as a legal or executive assistant, office manager or administrator.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and general comfort with learning new programs and software are essential.
•Desire and aptitude for learning new ways of working on the job.
•High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
•Client-service oriented with attention to detail.
•Creative problem-solver.
•Flexibility, enthusiasm for teamwork and a “can do” attitude.
