An experienced qualified practitioner who can provide clinical leadership and management support to the UTC/MIU teams and provide optimum quality of care to all patients attending the Urgent care treatment centres/Minor Injury Unit, offering support to the multi- professional team. Providing assessments and treatments independently or in participation with other clinicians in accordance with agreed pathways and clinical guidelines. Developing and evaluating best practice within the UTC's/MIU.
The practitioner will be given the opportunity to develop their clinical skills in assessment and treatments. There will be an opportunity for ongoing professional development to support the role and development of the service at UTC's. The Practitioner will be able to work closely with colleagues at the UTC and those in the Emergency Medicine team to ensure best practice and relationships are maintained. The UTC's/MIU have a friendly, hard working team of practitioners, health care staff, GP's and Advanced Practitioners striving to ensure that all patients receive the the highest quality of care and patient experience.

• Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team including situations where difficulties in comprehension occur.

• Teaching, assessing, and supervising/providing mentorship to appropriate students or junior staff.

• Support patients, carers and others during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, e.g., imparting bad news or following an unexpected event.
• Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times.
