Job Description
The Senior Legal Advisor provides strategic legal advice on all aspects of the business
This is a demanding and complex task and will require an experienced individual who is able to work with a wide range of stakeholders
Key Accountabilities
* Contract Negotiation and Drafting of legal documentation: Review, negotiate, and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including client agreements, data related contracts, supplier contracts, non-disclosure agreements, employment contracts and enterprise/corporate partnership agreements
* Advice to the business: Provide clear, concise advice to the business on legal, liability and risk issues which allows the business to take decisions and implement its strategy. This includes sector specific advice on matters such as terms and conditions, investment vehicles, and potential redress
* Legal Risk Management: Identify legal risks associated with the business operations, product, and services and develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks. Includes contracts, intellectual property, data privacy, cybersecurity, and third-party management
* Third-Party Supplier/Outsourcing Management: Oversee and or support third-party management, including selection, due diligence, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance evaluation
* Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues affecting the company's business practices or operations. Provide clear and practical advice to stakeholders, keeping them informed about legal developments and their potential impact on the business
* Provide legal guidance and support to the organisation on a variety of matters, including investment transactions (M&A), corporate governance and Legal regulatory compliance
* Advise on the structuring and formation of investment vehicles
* Draft and negotiate legal agreements, including investment documents, service provider contracts, and vendor agreements
* Review and advise on legal and regulatory filings, including offering memorandums, prospectuses, and regulatory filings
* Liaise with external legal counsel on complex legal matters
* Stay up to date with relevant legal and regulatory developments and advise the organisations on their potential impact. Develop and manage relationships with external law firms and ensure that any external legal resource is appropriate for the advice sought a
Education/Qualifications
Qualified lawyer Solicitor and appropriate degree level education
Experience
* Experience gained in an in-house legal team
A high level of understanding of the UK regulatory landscape
