Description | Salary £31,067-£35,235 per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | County Hall, Preston | International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship We are currently recruiting to the post of Schools Finance & Forum Officer within the Financial Management: Development and Schools Finance Team. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute and support the statutory and traded functions of the Schools Finance Team. As the Schools Finance and Forum Officer, you will: Have a varied workload, supporting both the statutory and traded functions of the team. Provide traded support to Lancashire schools, this will include receiving an allocation of schools to financially support, including budget monitoring, reconciliations, communicating with school bursars and senior leadership teams to support and challenge to ensure a balanced budget is maintained. Be required at times to travel to your allocation of schools to deliver the financial support packages. Provide statutory support to Lancashire schools and academies and to the Schools Finance Team. This includes leading on various financial tasks: distributing, reconciling and processing funding in line with LCC policies and the Department for Education's conditions/guidance. Assist in the operations of the Lancashire Schools Forum and it's working groups. Provide support to the grade 5, providing guidance and assistance to deliver high performance. Be part of a large and supportive team, financially supporting over 500 schools and academies within Lancashire. About you: 5 GCSE's or equivalent maths and English grade A - C (grades 9 - 4 on the new grade scale) You'll have great communication skills with the ability to advise and present information to more senior staff and customers. You will be able to work well in a team but also have the ability to work without close supervision Have the ability to use Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word and can adapt to working with new financial systems. You are self-motivated, organised, and have the ability to deal with complex issues constructively and work accurately whilst under pressure. Have a driving licence and car. This is an essential car user post and travelling to your allocation of schools will be required. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability. Reasons to join us?
