Job overview
The role provides essential administrative support within the Specialised Cancer Services Care Group. We are seeking enthusiastic, professional admin audio typists with strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills. The ideal candidates will be methodical, organised, flexible, and uphold the Trust’s PROUD values.
A good understanding of patient confidentiality and administrative experience is required, along with effective computer skills including OCR level II or equivalent typing experience within an office environment. Experience within an NHS practice and with computer systems is desirable.
Main duties of the job
1. Maintain effective communication and foster good relationships with internal and external contacts as appropriate.
2. Be responsible for contacting patients by telephone and the trusts text messaging services.
3. Ensure the typing of clinical correspondence is accurate and timely to distribute to patients and care professionals.
4. Process patient documentation and make available for the care team.
5. Support the Secretarial Team with adhoc admin duties as and when appropriate.

Qualifications
* GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
* OCR l or II Typewriting qualification or equivalent typing experience within an office environment
Experience
* Experience of working within an office environment
* Experience of working in a public-facing role
* Relevant experience within the NHS
Further Training
* Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
* Previous experience with Infoflex / 59R Software
* Previous experience of PAS / Infoflex / SystmOne (area-specific software)
Skills and Knowledge
* Understanding of data protection issues and the ability to maintain confidentiality
* Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels.
