Job summary An exciting opportunity is available for Registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Social Workers to join the North Yorkshire and York Perinatal Mental Health Team, in Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. The successful applicant will be expected to cover across North Harrogate / Hambleton patch. We are a specialist service that strives to deliver excellent standards of care to expectant and new mothers with severe and complex mental health problems. We are looking for a highly motivated mental health practitioners with an interest in perinatal mental health, however further specialist training and supervision will be provided to the successful candidates. An ability to work flexibly and independently around the needs of our families is a priority. We are seeking those with experience of assessment and safety management of service users within the community, this includes excellent communication skills with a detailed knowledge of safeguarding procedures. You will also have knowledge of interventions, including psychological interventions to support our mothers, babies and families. Our clinical team includes psychiatry, psychology, advanced nurse practitioners, operational manager, nursing, occupational therapy, nursery nurse and peer support workers. The post holder will support the clinical leadership in the development of the service to meet the perinatal ambitions within the NHS Long Term Plan over the coming years. Main duties of the job Promotes and maintains safety, privacy and dignity of all patients. Acts, wherever applicable, in accordance with the Mental Health Act and associated policies and procedures. Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of patient harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the patient. Responsible for ensuring the highest professional standards and attitudes at all times. Provides clinical advice on complex issues to other members of the clinical team and staff from other disciplines. Undertakes risk assessments in accordance with the Trust's Clinical Risk Assessment and Management Policy.
