Principal Manufacturing Engineer Client: BAE Systems Location: Barrow in Furness Hourly Rate: £42 PAYE or £55.42 Umbrella Working Arrangements: Team currently working 2 days on site About the Role BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join our Supply Chain Resilience team. You will assess and enhance supplier capabilities within the Barrow Capability, Capacity and Resilience (BCCR) Programme, supporting accelerated production and key milestones for the SSNA build programme. Key Responsibilities Act as a manufacturing expert, supporting the Supply Chain Resilience Team and suppliers. Conduct manufacturing readiness assessments, including: Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA) Facilities, Equipment & Tooling Make vs. Buy decisions Support suppliers in developing optimisation plans and validating improvements. Monitor long-term plans to sustain production rates and ensure safety and environmental standards. What We're Looking For Background in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar. Experience in lean production, optimising product flow, and continuous improvement. Knowledge of Supply Chain operations and Project Management tools. STEM degree preferred but not essential.
