Job overview
Community Care Division has a number of exciting opportunities providing leadership and oversight to our clinical teams, working in partnership with service users, carers and other key stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of outcomes.
The successful candidates will be required to provide strategic operational and clinical leadership using the most up to date and evidence-based theory and practice and offer expert clinical advice for service users, carers, staff and other professionals.
Main duties of the job
This is a 12 month secondment where the successful candidate will provide clinical and professional leadership to the Speech and Language Therapy workforce and be professionally accountable for the planning and delivery of high-quality Speech and Language Therapy across the Division, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and efficient person-centred care.
1. Provide visible leadership, lead and inspire the Speech and Language Therapy workforce within the Division and act as role model ensuring that the Registered and Support Workforce within Speech and Language Therapy are empowered to participate in and influence decision making at all levels.
2. To lead on a number of quality and clinical governance matters and initiatives within Speech and Language Therapy as directed by the Head of Allied Health Professionals and support the delivery of the Trust’s Clinical Strategy and Quality Account.
3. To contribute to the development of high-quality innovative services through the Trust’s professional and clinical governance frameworks, including the implementation of national guidance.
Person specification
Qualifications
* HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist
* Diploma/Degree or equivalent Speech and Language Therapy qualification
* Relevant post graduate training to Masters level or equivalent
* Evidence of post-qualified study/short courses and Continuing Professional Development
* Membership of Professional Body (RCSLT)
* Membership /Activity of special interest group/networks
Knowledge
* Significant post registration experience as a Speech and Language Therapist
* Supervision and line management experience
* Service development and innovation in Speech and Language Therapy Services
* Specialist knowledge and application of current best practice in Speech and Language Therapy
* Knowledge and specialist application of assessment and intervention with designated client group
