Role: Field Technician
Location: Nottingham
Duration: 3 Month initial contract (Permanent offer afterward)
Key Accountabilities:
1. Undertake day-to-day inspection, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater assets to defined internal quality standards.
2. Deliver a high level of customer service while meeting health and safety, financial, KPI, statutory, quality, and contractual compliance.
3. Work with scheduling team and line management to maximize productivity and efficiency.
4. Provide quality daily job feedback to identify follow-on work to minimize avoidable failures for water quality and environmental consents.
5. Provide support to both customers and colleagues with technical input when required.
6. Manage personal workloads to ensure maximum flexibility, productivity, and effective time management.
7. Undertake a range of activities as required and as skills and ability allow, including O&M activities, CFS testing, meter verification/installation, lifecycle works, and general site maintenance and cleaning duties.
8. Maintain site standards to food grade level, particularly on water assets.
9. Support local operational incidents.
10. Participate in an out-of-hours operational stand-by rota.
11. Carry out O&M works on a Water Treatment works capable of producing 5 mega litres per day.
12. Undertake shift work, including late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
13. Be able to achieve MoD clearance.
14. Travel to various sites as required; all travel and expenses will be covered.
Experience:
1. Experience of operating and maintaining water and wastewater assets.
2. Experience in minor civil works such as drainage, manholes, and water pumps.
3. Experience in plumbing installation and maintenance (where applicable).
4. Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety.
5. Good communicator with customers and all STS colleagues.
6. Computer/smartphone literate for using Field IT.

12. Drive and motivation to achieve and deliver the best possible standards (both aesthetically and product quality).
Qualifications:
1. Experience in O&M activities.
2. Experience in Water/Sewage assets.
3. Ability to use safety equipment/tools.
4. Basic risk assessment knowledge.
Desirable:
1. Qualifications in Water/Sewage treatment - NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (where applicable).
2. 360 Extractor Ticket experience.
3. Farming background.
4. EUSR Hygiene card.
5. Manual Handling Training.
6. Confined Space (escape set or full BA).
7. Working at Heights.
