Conveyancing Assistant - Norwich The Role We are looking for a Conveyancing Assistant join our busy Residential Property team in Norwich and assist in the delivery of residential property legal services to our clients across the footprint of our offices. As part of this role, you can expect to get involved in and undertake the following: Exchange/Completion Tasks Post exchange work – running exchange procedures and sending communications to Clients, Solicitors, Estate Agents and other relevant parties, such as lenders Preparing completion statements, apportionment statements, ills etc. Setting and scheduling files up for completion – CHAPS etc. Completion paperwork – redeeming mortgages, forwarding completion documentation, serving Notices (leasehold) etc. Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) forms Land Registry applications Checking ledgers are clear prior to file closing Communications with Clients and third parties by various methods, including face to face meetings, telephone, email, etc. General Tasks Take instructions or messages from clients and pass on to fee earner Highlighting milestone dates on each matter on the matter management system Ensure all letters and communication are completed accurately and on time Maintain the filing system in an orderly manner to ensure correct conduct for client files Open and close files correctly Assist the team with the maintenance of each client file in a proper manner in accordance with the requirements of the Firm. the Law Society, SRA and Conveyancing Quality Scheme (of which the firm is a member) Follow up and liaise with clients and other parties such as Estate Agents for key information for file matter Complete and follow up all documents in relation to accounts, incoming and outgoing payment requisitions and banking for client matters Prepare forms and paperwork necessary for client files Knowledge, skills and experience required Our ideal candidate will have the following experience: At least two years’ demonstrable post-exchange and completion experience working in a similar and comparable business Sound working knowledge of Microsoft office, primarily Word Have a flexible approach to work Experience in a process driven environment Keen enquiry skills, good follow up Excellent internal and external client focus Well-developed interpersonal skills, with sound written and oral communication Good attention to detail Ability to use case management system or a willingness to learn Ability to plan, organise and manage time efficiently The Residential Conveyancing Team Our Conveyancing team handle all types of property transactions for clients throughout East Anglia and beyond.
