Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join our team based in Oswestry. You will join us on a Part -time 22.5 hours, permanent basis. In return, a Maintenance Officer will receive a competitive rate of £23,677- £26,324 FTE. About the Maintenance Officer role : Your role as a Maintenance officer is to help us deliver Our Purpose, through ensuring that our buildings and grounds are maintained to an excellent standard, where our children, families, staff, volunteers and supporters feel safe. You will work positively as part of a small Facilities team, carrying out tasks in support of the effective facilities management of our buildings. Ensuring repairs, maintenance and mandatory testing are carried out safely, effectively and within the set deadlines. You will have good all-round knowledge of electrical and plumbing installations and be confident resolving maintenance problems. You will have a background in building, fitting or maintenance with a hands on practical approach. Record keeping will also be an important aspect of the role, as will basic IT skills. You will have a flexible approach to work which may occasionally be during the weekend or out of hours to address emergencies. You will be required to provide your own transport; mileage expenses will be reimbursed at 45p per mile. We are looking for a Maintenance Officer who has: A range of general building and maintenance skills. The ability to efficiently manage a varied workload, prioritising as appropriate. Valid full driving licence. Basic qualification/certification (or equivalent experience) in a recognised building trade. Flexible in your approach to working hours and times. Reliable individual with high professional standards. Physical demands: you must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 22kg on a day to day basis.
