This role involves working for Canopy & Stars, a collection of unique, creative places to stay in the outdoors that give you a genuine experience of a life more wild. Your role You'll be the driving force behind the commercial success of Canopy & Stars' social media channels, with a focus on Instagram and TikTok. Your expertise will not only keep Canopy & Stars at the forefront as the leading outdoor holiday brand (we have a combined 636k followers) but will also propel our reach and engagement to new heights. You'll shape and expand our digital presence, ensuring it resonates with our adventurous and nature-loving audience. Whilst a creative eye is important, we do work with freelancers and content creators. Therefore the key attributes we’re looking for with this role are someone who is highly organised, results-driven and has an expert understanding of the social landscape. Reports to Marketing Manager, Canopy & Stars Main tasks and responsibilities Execute Social media strategy : Work with the Marketing Manager to establish the social media strategy and then responsible for executing this to ensure growth and engagement goals are met. Content posting : You’ll be responsible for planning, scheduling and posting content to all our channels as well as maintaining a monthly content calendar and posting schedule. Community management : Owning engagement and interactions on our social channels, including tagged posts and staying on top of UGC (including permissions and reposting). Content creation : Whilst creation will be shared amongst freelancers and other team members, it’s important that you’re also able to edit great content with a keen eye for what will perform well on social media. You may be required to spend time on the road, visiting our places or attending podcast recordings. Planning and admin : Connect with the wider marketing team and other parts of the business to develop a deeper understanding of all the campaigns, content and projects we need to communicate and align this with the social plan. You’ll also be responsible for liaising with external photographers, co-ordinating trips and organising the content when it comes back. Reporting & Analysis : Analyse the performance of our social media channels and produce a monthly report including learnings and recommendations. Maintaining a cutting edge understanding of best practices, features, strategies and tactics. Supporting other brands : As the social media expert within the business, you’ll also provide strategic support to our sister brands Sawday’s and Paws & Stay, sharing best practice and recommendations for improvement. Skills and experience Essential A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Social Media Management role or managing a large social media account Demonstratable experience of significantly growing a brand via social Strong copywriting, content creation, and storytelling skills Experience using GA4 and social media analytics tools to report on performance Experience of using photo and video editing tools An excellent understanding of social media networks, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, and how to apply social strategy to individual channels A passion for staying up to date with the latest trends, changes and updates Able to work autonomously but also good at collaborating with a team Driven, enthusiastic with a keen passion to produce work swiftly Excellent attention to detail Excellent communicator with a passion for customer service and an understanding of how to deal with customer conflict Confident attending shoots and liaising with photographers/videographers Excellent written and verbal English with a keen eye for what makes engaging copy Applicants must hold a full driving licence and be eligible to work in the UK Desirable Education or professional experience in Marketing and/or Media-based discipline and/or professional qualification in Marketing or Digital Marketing (e.g. CIM) Drive to do things better/differently A working knowledge of the principals of SEO and how it applies to social media Managed a variety of social media accounts with a consistent track record of growth Experience in paid social media management Travel or outdoor brand experience Salary and benefits £30-£35k per annum, dependent on experience Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Flexi time and hybrid working, with the option to work some time from home as well as the office (needs to be commutable from Bristol) Company pension scheme: 5% employee contribution, 4% company contribution An employee-owned company: after your introductory period, you will be eligible to a share of any dividends A special place to work: a colourful, upcycled, recycled, open plan office on Bristol’s buzzing harbourside DEIBA Team: a team focused on diversity & inclusion efforts for our employees and customers £275 per year towards staying in one of our special places 20% employee discount and 10% family and friends discount on Canopy & Stars breaks, 10% discount on Paws & Stay breaks Enhanced maternity and paternity pay A volunteering day per year A ‘Climate Journey Day’ policy, which gives you the opportunity to earn up to two paid days per year to travel to and from a holiday destination using low-carbon transport.
