Are you an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist looking for a rewarding role within a supportive and forward-thinking healthcare team? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of psychiatric care within our service.
About the Role
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be a key member of our leadership team, providing expert clinical guidance and ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients. You will have the opportunity to lead service development, influence clinical practice, and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide compassionate and effective mental health care.
Your role as a responsible clinician will be supported by senior management, allowing you to focus on delivering excellent patient care. With dedicated administrative support and the option for flexible or remote working, you will have everything you need to thrive in your role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take overall responsibility for a defined caseload of patients, ensuring they receive tailored, high-quality psychiatric care.
2. Collaborate closely with the Medical Director, Hospital Director, Clinical Services Manager, and external stakeholders to shape the service and maintain strong professional relationships.
3. Provide leadership and supervision to Consultant Psychiatrists, ensuring effective appraisal and re-validation systems are in place.
4. Support quality enhancement initiatives, service evaluation projects, and research activities to improve patient care.
5. Represent the organisation externally, building strong relationships with commissioners, community teams, and key partners.
6. Participate in an out-of-hours rota to ensure continuous consultant cover.
7. Lead the hospital’s CPD programme, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
8. Offer guidance on national medical initiatives, including NICE recommendations and external investigations.
Eligibility Criteria
* Hold a CCT or CESR in Psychiatry.
* Approved Clinician status.
* Experience in Psychiatry of Learning Disability.
